Expected the worst, but was surprised
For $150, I was expecting the worst-thin fake wood that broke before it was even put together. I'm not going to say this thing would survive a tornado, but so far it seems pretty darn solid. I bought it because I have always had a platform bed and can't stand box springs. I have laid an 8" queen memory foam mattress on it, and it holds that up no problem. It has survived the deed with no squeaking and none worse for wear. However, I will warn that this bed probably shouldn't be moved around too much. First off, it is far far too heavy. And the stability does get a little shaky when dragged.
Putting it together wasn't too bad, but then I had my brilliant boyfriend and his power drill to help. I can see how this would be a pain without the power tool. Took a moment to orient ourselves with which piece was which. The true challenge came with putting on the edges to keep the mattress in places (which I love). We had to flip the bed over to be able to screw them in...

NICE BED!
This went together in a snap! Looks fabulous! I am so glad I made this choice and it was easy to adapt my headboard.
Ok I guess, for the price.
For anyone who's not familiar with modern-day cheap particle-board furniture, you might be surprised if you buy an item like this. For everyone else, you already know what to expect. It's a laminated, veneered pile of particle-boards that get screwed, glued, and clipped together. It's sturdy enough when laying flat and with a bed on it, but it's not structurally meant to do anything else. So this means that even while moving it, it flexes and creaks, and could possibly tear apart at any time. But whatever. I needed a cheap solution that could get delivered to my house, and this worked out. My only real complains is that 1 board (albeit a trim piece) was SLIGHTLY off in length, which makes one corner of my bed look uneven (about 1/8 inch of trim protrudes past where it should). Also this bed is extremely heavy. I have no idea how I got the box into the house by myself, but good luck moving it around if you don't have a friend to help.
